HIS 101 and 111: The Ancient Paragraph

This is a photo of Naqsh-e Rustam, northwest of what was once the Ancient Persian capital city of Persepolis. The site contains the tombs of four Achaemenid tombs, including that of Darius 1 (r. 522-486 BCE), that have been carved into the solid rock face (and pretty high up at that). You have a choice of assignments. You must do either the Pericles Paragraph or the Cyrus Paragraph. In HIS 101 (not in HIS 111), if you choose the Pericles paragraph, then you may also submit the Cyrus paragraph as extra credit for up to 10 points. If you choose the Cyrus paragraph, then you may also submit the Pericles paragraph as extra credit for up to 10 points.
