The Belarus-Lithuanian Border

Ok, this was a map experiment. I started with was a prewar map of Vilna guberniia (a province of the Russian Empire that was centered around the city of Vilna (Vilnius), the present-day capital of Lithuania. I geo-referenced and then rectified that map sp it could be compared to a current map. Then I overlay the Vilna map with a map of present-day Belarus, and I made the overlay semi-transparent so that the current Belarus part of the map is opaque If you zoom in close enough, you can see the Vilna map underneath, and you can see that a lot of what was once part of Vilna guberniia is now included in Belarus. The wide, dark line just to the east of Vilnius is the current border.
