Set, sometimes Seth, is often portrayed as a man with the head of an unidentified animal, perhaps a jackal, with a long, curved, pointed beak and squared ears. He was one of the earliest Egyptian gods born of the union of Geb (earth) and Nut (sky) after the creation of the world. (World History Encyclopedia) "Somewhere along the line the view of Set changed, he became the God of evil, conflict and violence." (Egyptian gods and goddesses) Set's battle with his nephew Horus can be seen as a struggle between evil and good for control of the world.
