Jones Bros. & Miller Buy Haines Building

“Owners of the well known 5 and 19 Cent Store were the successful bidders for the Haines Building sold at public auction.”
“the price was run up to almost $18,000.”
They “will move their 5 and 10 cent store into their new building as soon as necessary alterations are made.”

The “5 and 10" Moves Upward

“Jones Bros. & Miller have transferred their stock from the Citizens National Bank building to the spacious Haines building which they recently purchased.”

5 & 10 Will Celebrate Opening

“our enterprising merchants, Jones Bros. & Miller, having purchased the big double front Haines building and after enlarging and remodeling it, will celebrate their Grand Opening. The celebrations will start tomorrow and will continue to Saturday, Nov. 10th. The new home of the 5 and 10, is a spacious day-light room 38 by 130 feet which is the largest store room in town. The basement, part of the second floor and the entire 3rd floor, are used as warerooms (sic). The remainder of he second floor is occupied by Allen O. Delke, Post 16, A. L. and the Merchants Association."
“The 5 and 10 was founded by two of the present proprietors, John H. Jones and Robert L. Jones, in December 1899. Mr. LeRoy Miller, who was admitted into the partnership eight years afterward, was manager from the time of the firm’s institution.”
