[Note: In 1918, a national daylight saving time was established in the U.S. with the Standard Time Act, which also set up time zones across the U.S. But later that was abolished, and DST varied all across the country, from state to state and even from town to town. That could make for some interesting travels. In 1966, DST was regulated countrywide by the Uniform Time Act which standardized the dates for the start and end of DST.]

School Activities, Band Uniforms

During the week an order has been placed for uniforms for the School Band. The suits, 34 in number, are to be made of a very good quality of blue whipcord trimmed in white and each consisting of four pieces, a cap, cape, military coat and trousers. The band expects to wear them for the first time on Thanksgiving Day. The suits will be paid for through activities of the school directed by the teachers and not from the district treasury.
