The Slatington Legion has expanded greatly over the years. The building is indicated on the 1896 Sanborn Insurance map, and on the 1927 map it was being used as a store. Originally, the building was only the east half of the current structure; then the bar area was added on the northwest, then the walk-in cooler, then another addition was built over the grass plot on the west side the building. The parking area has dramatically expanded over time also.
